St. John’s Sports Medicine-HealthTracks is proud
to support a variety of sports-related activities and projects in
Springfield and the surrounding area.
St.
John’s is proud to be affiliated with the Greater Springfield Community
Olympic Development Program.
This program develops and operates community
based Olympic Sports Programs in cooperation with community organizations,
community sponsors, the United States Olympic Committee and the designated
national governing bodies. This program provides athletes in our region
access to the best facilities, programs, coaches, and competition in order
to enhance their athletic ability. The sports involved include tennis,
volleyball, hockey and weightlifting.
For information about his program, contact
Linda Dollar at 417-874-2174.
St. John’s Sports Medicine is the official
provider of sports medicine for the Springfield Cardinals. This includes the
provision of medical coverage at their games, care of their players in all
aspects of their health, and the opportunity for their players to use our
facilities for training and performance enhancement. It also gives their
athletic trainer access to St. John’s Sports Medicine’s
state-of-the-art facility for rehabilitation.
St.
John’s Sports Medicine partners with the Springfield-Greene County Park
Board to support a variety of activity related programs. Through the SPARC
program, we are able to provide several early-morning and after school
programs.
The SPARC Step Club program was developed to
help fight the increasing epidemic of childhood obesity. It is a program
designed to get elementary aged children and their families walking together
to increase lifelong activity. Our goal is to increase the program county
wide. The Missouri State University Physical Education Department has
started research with this program to look at its long-term impact.
For more information about the early morning
or after school programs offered in partnership with the Springfield-Greene
County Park Department, please contact Sandra Pratt, SPARC Coordinator, at
