- What is a radiologic
technologist?
Radiologic Technologists are the health care professionals who use
X-rays and other energies for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes in
medicine. A Radiologic Technologist who specializes in the use of x-rays
to create diagnostic images of a patient is called a radiographer. The radiographer
performs a wide variety of X-ray procedures to produce images of bones,
organs, and vessels under the direction of physicians called radiologists.

How can I become
“registered” radiographer?
To become a radiographer, an
individual must complete training from an accredited radiography program
and pass the national registry exam. St. John’s offers a 23 month hospital-based
Radiography program leading to a diploma. Graduates are then eligible to
sit for the national certification examination in Radiography as
administered by the American Registry
of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam. For additional information,

What is the class
schedule?
The program is 23 months in length and begins in July each year. Students are involved in a
combination of classroom and clinical assignments approximately 30 to 38
hours a week, Monday through Friday during the day. Please click on Master
