Quality Recognition -
CMS Selects St.
John’s to participate in national project
The Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) selected St. John’s Clinic to
participate in a new Physician Group Practice Demonstration Project.
This three-year
initiative is the first pay-for-performance project for physicians
under the national Medicare program. The project will evaluate
methods of improving treatment for Medicare patients with certain
chronic diseases, such as asthma, diabetes, and chronic heart
failure.
St. John’s
physicians will have the opportunity to demonstrate how improving
care in a proactive, coordinated manner will result in both improved
health outcomes and cost savings.
St. John’s is
honored to have been chosen to participate and we look forward to
sharing results in future quality reports. All St. John’s Clinic
physicians, approximately 420, are participating in this important
project.
