St. John’s Clinic receives spirit of excellence award

St. John’s Clinic Force for Good has been chosen as the winner of the 15th annual Modern Healthcare Magazine Community Spirit of Excellence Award. The Spirit of Excellence award honors organizations and individuals that go beyond what is expected in serving their patients and communities. As a winner, St. John’s Clinic will receive a cash prize of $5,000 that will be put back into the Force for Good.

“We are extremely honored and pleased to receive this national recognition,” says Donn Sorensen, chief operating officer of St. John’s Clinic. “We hope that other organizations throughout the country will be inspired."

The Force for Good campaign has raised more than $600,000 in the past four years to help not-for-profit organizations in the region. Physicians and co-workers participate in annual winter and summer campaigns. Beneficiaries are selected by filling out an application and are decided on by a committee.

The most recent fund raiser was the “Helping Health & Hunger” campaign, which raised more than $80,000 for Ozark Food Harvest and The Kitchen Medical and Dental Clinic.
