St.
John’s Foundation for Community Health announced a major gift from the
O’Reilly family for expansion of cancer services.
In
recognition of the donation, St. John’s Cancer Center has been named “St.
John’s C.H. ‘Chub’ O’Reilly Cancer Center. The announcement came at a donor
recognition dinner April 12 celebrating the opening of St. John’s new
Patient Tower.
“It is a new beginning in cancer services at St. John’s,
thanks to this family’s generosity and vision – their commitment to helping
patients living with, through and beyond cancer,” said Kim Day, St. John’s
Health System president /CEO.
The
family of “Chub” O’Reilly – Charlie and Mary Beth O’Reilly; Larry and
Nancy O’Reilly; David O’Reilly; Rosalie O’Reilly Wooten and Kenna Lou
O’Reilly –
generously
donated funds to
expand St.
John’s cancer program to include a cancer resource center. The O’Reilly
family support will also enable the cancer program to move up to a higher
level of comprehensive support and care – a level that will rival the
country’s top cancer centers.
“We appreciate the support of the O’Reilly family and
recognize the significance of their contribution. The cancer resource center
will help St. John’s address unmet needs of cancer patients in the Ozarks,
Mike Peters, and St. John’s Foundation for Community Health President.
The St. John’s C.H. “Chub” O’Reilly Cancer Center is located
at 2055 S. Fremont in Springfield.
