St. John’s Children’s Hospital
has been chosen by Kohl’s as the Springfield-area beneficiary of the Kohl’s
Cares for Kids program. The program, Kohl’s will donate funds to St.
John’s Children’s Hospital through St. John’s Foundation for Community Health.

Kohl’s store is offering exclusive collector’s editions of Peanuts books A
Charlie Brown Christmas, I Want a Dog for Christmas Charlie Brown! and
Snoopy: Flying Ace to the Rescue. Kohl’s is also offering exclusive Charlie
Brown, Snoopy and Woodstock plush characters and coordinating outfits.
Kohl’s stores across the
country are featuring the exclusive items for $5 each with 100 percent of the
net profits benefiting children’s health and education opportunities in Kohl’s
markets across the country. The items will also be available online at
www.kohls.com.

The collector’s edition Peanuts
books feature the classic Peanuts characters in brightly colored illustrations
based on stories and comics by Charles M. Schultz.
A Charlie
Brown Christmas is the classic holiday tale of Charlie Brown and his quest
for the true meaning of Christmas. This year marks the 40th
anniversary of the first Peanuts television movie based on the book,
which is the longest-running cartoon special in history, airing every year since
its debut in 1965.
I Want a Dog For Christmas,
Charlie Brown! is the story of Lucy and Linus’s younger brother, Rerun, who
wants a dog of his own and there’s only one person who can help – Santa Claus!
Snoopy the Flying Ace bravely
keeps the world safe during World War I in Snoopy: Flying Ace to the Rescue.
In addition to the Peanuts
books and plush toys, Kohl’s is offering an exclusive holiday CD containing
holiday favorites performed by Nat King Cole and Dean Martin. The CD, available
only at Kohl’s, features 12 holiday selections including Winter Wonderland,
Joy to the World, Baby, It’s Cold Outside and many more.
The collector’s edition books
and plush toys, as well as the CD, are part of the Kohl’s Cares for Kids program.
Throughout the year, Kohl’s features special items in its stores priced at $5
each with 100 percent of the net profits going to support health and educational
opportunities for children in the communities it serves.
In addition to supporting
children’s health and educational opportunities, the Kohl’s Cares for Kids
program features a gift card fundraising opportunity for local schools and
non-profit youth groups, the Kohl’s Kids Who Care program, which
recognizes kids who contribute through volunteerism to their local communities,
and the associate volunteer program, which encourages volunteerism to benefit
local nonprofit organizations.
St. John’s Children's Hospital is a “hospital within
a hospital”. It is comprised of all of pediatric specialties and subspecialties,
including pediatrician offices in Springfield and southwest Missouri, surgery, neurology, neurosurgery,
intensivists, radiology, anesthesiology, allergy, ophthalmology, orthopedics and
otolaryngology St. John’s Emergency Trauma Center is the only one in the region
designated as a level one adult and pediatric trauma center.
