Parking garage
St.
John’s 1,000-car main campus parking garage opened in March 2003.
The first floor
is designated for Hammons Heart Institute and Fremont Medical Building
patients and physicians. The first floor includes reserved spaces for the
handicapped and expectant mothers.
Levels 2 through 6 of the garage are designated co-worker spaces. There are
approximately 800 of these spaces, according to Safety & Security Supervisor
Daren Thomas. These levels also have four reserved spaces for the
handicapped.
Level 2 has reserved motorcycle parking spaces. Elevator access to each
level is located on the southwest corner. There are stairwells on this
corner as well as the northeast and northwest corners. Each stairwell is
equipped with emergency phones.
Safety & Security has a dispatch center and 89 cameras in the
facility.
There
are plans for a second parking garage on the campus.
