St. John’s Hospital-Lebanon breaks ground for Curry Cancer Center

Groundbreaking ceremonies for the new Curry Cancer Center and major expansions to the emergency department and the medical surgical units at St. John's Hospital-Lebanon took place in February at the hospital, in front of the Emergency Department entrance.
“It's an exciting time for the foundation, the hospital and the community,” says St. John's Vice President Karen Simpson. “Many people have donated generously to help see this day come. It's the first step in seeing their hard work, donations and support take shape.”
Simpson says events such as the annual St. John's-Lebanon Heritage Foundation's Fantasy Gala as well as gifts from individuals, families and businesses are making the new facilities and expansions possible as demonstrated through the groundbreaking ceremonies.
Representatives from the hospital, foundation, city and St. John's Health System participated in the groundbreaking. Limited commemorative bricks will be sold to mark the event.

St. John’s Life Line licensed in Arkansas

St. John's Life Line 1, based in Branson West, was recently licensed as an air ambulance provider by the Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services, Section of EMS & Trauma Systems. The twin-engine helicopter can respond to any critical patient at a scene or hospital and will transport the patient to any appropriate requested facility in northwest Arkansas or southwest Missouri.
On-board services include two-patient capabilities, cardiac emergent pre-hospital care, 12-Lead EKG, thrombolytic care, advanced skill and training in neonatal, pediatric, obstetrical care, trauma, burn and stroke care. Life Line is available to all critical patients, regardless of the ability to pay. St. John's Life Line also has bases in St. Robert and Bolivar.

E-consults now available on stjohns.com

Need a second opinion about your spine problem? St. John’s orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons are now offering e-consults for spine-related conditions through St. John’s Web site at www.stjohns.com/econsult for a flat fee of $150.
“While an e-consult does not include a physician examination and thus cannot be relied on as a complete evaluation, it provides an opportunity to obtain an opinion from a neurosurgeon or orthopedic spine surgeon based on information about your symptoms, past medical and surgical history and imaging studies such as MRIs or CT scans,” says neurosurgeon Alan Scarrow, M.D.
