2009-2010 Co-Worker Giving Campaign
St. John’s Foundation for Community Health
supports projects to help improve the health of our community. Thanks to the
generous commitment of donors, the Foundation has provided more than $13
million to that effort since 2001.
Over the next few years, St. John’s has major
fundraising initiatives including:
• Building a new heart and vascular hospital
• Enlarging and enhancing our Children’s
Hospital services and facilities
• Advancing prevention, treatment and cancer
care within St. John’s C.H. “Chub” O’Reilly Cancer Center
These areas of focus are vital to the
long-term health and wellness of all of us who live and work in the Ozarks.
With your help, St. John’s will continue it’s
leading role in the delivery of healthcare in the Ozarks—now and for years
to come.
Why Give?
If someone is in need, and in some way I can
help, then I should. I know I don’t contribute that much, but I do it with
the knowledge that combined with others, I can make a positive difference in
someone’s life. I like that we have options as to where our money goes,
whether for specific causes, or for the greatest need as defined
by the Foundation.
—Mark R. Kastner, Manager, St. John's Projects Office
I know that my gifts to St. John’s Foundation
will be used for those who have the greatest needs, especially our own
co-workers. Our gifts stay in our St. John’s communities, helping our own
neighbors and friends.
—Ann Meuser, St. John’s Health System Vice President, Mission Services
The money I donate to the Foundation, I ask
that it goes to the Crisis Fund, because I like the fact that it helps
people I work with everyday. Having sat on the Crisis Fund Board, I know
that sometimes the money means the difference in a child getting to eat or
not.
—Jeffrey Sell, Lead Painter, St. John’s Hospital Plant
Operations
A robust and vibrant Foundation is vital to
the long term success of any health system. I know some of the people at the
Foundation and trust their judgment completely. It is a gift to be able to
give. The latest contribution my wife and I gave was to the Heart Hospital
fund. It’s not just ‘giving back’ it’s ‘giving forward’.
—Thomas Kuich, M.D., M.B.A., St. John’s Psychiatrist
I feel that the Sisters give because we are
called as well as invited to reach out and keep alive the reality of others
in need. We need to accompany those in need, and step out in compassion to
“stand” in solidarity with others in bringing “hope” in the midst of
uncertainty, confident that God is bringing new life, and justice to our
world. Giving is a value and also part of Mercy Charism.
—Sister
Shirley Murphy, RSM, Sister of Mercy
