St. John's Kohl's Trauma Injury Prevention Program
.................................................................................................................................................

St. John’s Foundation for Community Health has announced the St. John’s Trauma Injury Prevention Program received $49,905 from Kohl’s Cares for Kids, a program supporting children’s health and educational opportunities.

The funds were used to purchase a van
for the use in educational programs provided throughout the region.

St. John’s Trauma Injury Prevention Program provides injury prevention education on the leading causes of injury in the region. The program, now named St. John’s Kohl’s Injury Prevention Program, continues to grow reaching more than 80,000 people last year.

“Kohl’s introduced the Kohl’s Cares for Kids program to promote children’s health and educational opportunities, and is committed to playing an active role in the communities we serve,” said Julie Gardner, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Kohl’s Department Stores. “We’re proud of the partnerships we’ve created with children’s hospitals across the country, and are excited to join St. John’s in this endeavor.”

Other St. John’s efforts supported through the Kohl’s sponsorship include “Schools on the Move …Step Club,, a partnership of Springfield Public Schools, The Springfield Greene County Park Board and St. John’s Sports Medicine for the past two years. St. John’s Foundation will continue to support that program.

Kohl’s commitment to St. John’s is made possible through the Kohl’s Cares for Kids program, which raises funds for children’s health and educational opportunities through the sale of special gift items. Net profits from the sales go to support children’s health and educational opportunities in the market areas served by Kohl’s. Kohl’s community outreach also includes Kohl’s Kids Who Care, an annual youth volunteer recognition program, fundraising gift cards for local schools and non-profit youth groups, as well as an associate program to encourage volunteerism.
