St. John’s EMS staff
members are not only leaders in the field, but they are also leaders in the
communities they serve. They volunteer their time to many committees,
boards, and emergency service agencies; teach community CPR, AED and first
responder courses; perform “DWI Docu-dramas” at local high schools; and
provide presentations to various civic organizations.
Excellence in education continues to be the
cornerstone of our service. Our education staff has developed diverse and
wide-reaching instructive programs. We offer core paramedic and EMT-B
courses and a multitude of continuing education offerings throughout the
year including Farmedic and Tactical Medic training.
We offered the first pediatric and BTLS
Access sites in the state. St. John’s EMS staff frequently writes articles
for Code 3 magazine, to date their efforts have provided over 2,000 CEUs
statewide. A regional “Stars of Life” challenge is presented each year
attracting many EMTs and paramedics throughout the region
