Field Operations

St.
John’s EMS strives to be on the cutting edge of services and technologies
that will help save lives and ease suffering of those in need. In keeping
with the philosophy of St. John’s Health System, we strive to meet the needs
of the Ozarks area.
Operations at St. John’s EMS are primarily
centered on “normal” emergencies that occur every day. But we are always
looking at ways to be prepared and trained for devastating events such as,
tornados, earthquakes, dam collapses, major fires, or homeland security
events.
Here are a few examples of how we are
improving our services.
Disaster Response
Special
Operations Response Team
St. John’s EMS has a highly specialized team,
capable of responding to an unlikely event, such as a weapon of mass
destruction detonation. This team endures intense training programs to work
hand in hand with the Homeland Security Response Team (HSRT) who responds to
any such event. The Special Operations Response Team’s primary goal is to
help with the care and decontamination of the crew members on the team so
that they will be ready, trained, and available to care for the sick and
injured on the scene.
EMS Bike Team
Although the names, Disaster Response, Special Response, and Bike Team, seem
great, it is far more than just a name. Each one of these “specialties”
comes with it a commitment, by employees, of long hours training, developing
protocols, maintaining equipment, and actually responding when needed.
